Jake Paul will 'defend' his $300,000 'Most Valuable Boxer' belt against bitter rival Tommy Fury this summer.
The YouTube star has finally announced that he will face Fury in the ring on August 6 with the contracts signed and sealed after weeks of negotiations. Paul has previously claimed he wants to fight for a world title in the sport and will face Fury in his sixth professional fight this summer.
Before his rematch victory over Tyron Woodley last December, Paul showed off a new custom-made colourful 'Most Valuable Promotions' belt worth around $300,000. Paul has now admitted it will be high stakes against Fury in the biggest risk of his short boxing career to date. "I want a tough test, I want to put the MVP belt on the line for this fight," Paul said when previewing his upcoming clash with Fury.
"There is $300,000 worth of f****** metal here that I am risking. I am also risking my career here and my legacy, there is tonnes of people who want to see me lose and that is what makes this fight exciting. This is for all the eggs, this is for all the glory and this is for all the s*** talk. After this what will anyone be able to say? I came from YouTube two years to beating professional fighters and now I am moving on to beating professional boxers.
"I am confident in my ability and I know Tommy is really good and I know he is working really hard right now. I know he has great coaches but one think that all of these guys have in common. They are good fighters, Tyron Woodley was the UFC champion of world but the one thing they have in common is that they can't beat me."
Paul is no stranger to competing with custom-created title belts on the line having fought for a WBC amateur belt during his time fighting in white-collar boxing. He also fought for a custom-made Triller strap designed by the promotion when he knocked out former UFC star Ben Askren last year.

The belt was designed and painted by creator '@AlecMonopoly' with Paul previously suggesting that the belt could be valued at up to $500,000. It features a designer Hermes Birkin bag sewn inside it which would alone cost six-figures but also includes a luxury diamond Cartier and Rolex watch.
Fury recently agreed to face Paul after being sent a 24 hour deadline by the YouTube star yesterday on social media. The fight nearly fell into jeopardy after his father John confirmed that neither him or heavyweight champion Tyson would be able to travel to the US.
The British star has been waiting patiently for his opportunity with Paul initially reluctant to hand him a rescheduled date. However the fight will now officially take place at the second attempt with a New York press conference expected to announce the event next week.
