Jake Paul trolled by Delta Airlines over cancelled Hasim Rahman Jr fight

Jake Paul has been trolled by Delta Airlines who accused the YouTuber of being "scared" after being contacted by Hasim Rahman Jr.

Paul was set to enter the boxing ring for his sixth time as a professional against Rahman Jr at Madison Square Garden, New York last weekend. But the fight was cancelled by Paul who was left frustrated with his rival unable to make their agreed 205lb catchweight limit.

Rahman Jr responded by claiming his rival deliberately pulled the plug on the meeting, and has continued to exchange verbal barbs with Paul on social media since the fight was shelved. In his latest jibe at Paul, Rahman Jr posted an image of a direct message exchange with Delta Airlines who joined in with the mocking of his rival.

The airline wrote: "I assigned you a seat 16F window. I am so sorry that Jake Paul was scared, hopefully next time he chooses Delta Airlines." Rahman Jr replied: "Thank you guys I will send him your way." It remains to be seen if Rahman Jr set up the stunt with the airline and made the first move to contact them.

Paul did not respond to the latest jibe and has since moved on from the clash with Rahman Jr. However he made a jibe of his own back using a condom company Triton to troll his rival with signs in a nightclub that read: "Trojan [a brand of condom] sponsor Hasim so he doesn't pull out."

The pair had originally agreed on a 200lb weight limit which had been put in place by Paul, who had been told by the New York State Athletic Commission he had to do so to have the fight sanctioned professionally. However Rahman Jr claimed he would be unable to make the limit and the pair then agreed a new limit of 205lb.

Rahman Jr was able to rehydrate to 215lb on the morning of the fight and weigh in at any point for the actual fight night. However Paul claimed he had received indication that Rahman Jr was planning to avoid the contracted limit and elected to shelve the fight.

The American heavyweight was annoyed with Paul's actions pleading his case to try and revive the fight, while accusing his opponent of running scared . He even weighed in as planned on the eve of the fight date, where he tipped the scales at 206lb just one shy of the limit.

Rahman Jr defended his actions, writing: "Jake and his ‘team’ cancelled this fight, not me! The fight isn’t happening on their accord not MINE! I'm a bridgerweight, otherwise known as heavyweight outside the WBC, I signed the contract to make 200lb in the three weeks, but my body wouldn't let me do it.

"Where in boxing do you see them cancel fights a week in advance? There are penalties involved, I'll fight you for the $5,000 minimum. I'd beat this man with one hand, just like I did in the gym."
