Jake Paul told to forget Khabib Nurmagomedov fight after making offer to UFC legend

Jake Paul has been told his call out of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov carries little weight.

Nurmagomedov opened the door for Paul to join his MMA promotion, Eagle FC, after the American outlined his hopes of competing in the cage.

Paul took Nurmagomedov up on his offer but stated he would only fight in Eagle FC if his first bout was against the undefeated Russian.

The 25-year-old started his MMA training this month and has been linked with a move to the Professional Fighters League promotion ahead of his debut.

But former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has rubbished talks of Paul fighting Nurmagomedov in the cage.

"For Jake Paul to be going out there and saying he will fight in MMA against Khabib, I mean what the f*** is that?," he said on his YouTube channel.

"No amount of training from Khabib or from anyone is gonna have you beating Khabib, yes he did a little bit of wrestling when he's at school.

"Guess what, I haven't researched Jake Paul's wrestling credentials. I haven't looked in so maybe I'm wrong, but I heard he wrestled a bit.

"At the end of the day, we are talking about fights that will never happen. Jake Paul vs Khabib, never gonna happen. Jake Paul vs someone like Conor McGregor, probably never gonna happen."

Nurmagomedov promised his mother he would not fight again following the death of his father and coach Abdulmanap in 2020.

'The Eagle' officially retired last year and vacated his UFC lightweight title, finishing his career with a flawless record of 29-0.

He will host Eagle FC's inaugural event on Saturday, which will be headlined by kickboxing veteran Tyron Spong facing Sergei Kharitonov.

Paul has also expressed an interest in joining the gym Nurmagomedov trains at, American Kickboxing Academy, to prepare for his first MMA bout.

And Bisping has told Paul he should fight someone his own size instead of calling out inactive fighters who are smaller than him.

He continued: "I mean just break it down, Khabib's offered him a fight [in his promotion], Khabib said I'll train you for the fight, Jake Paul said 'yeah sure I'll take it'.

"So Khabib's going to train Jake Paul to help Jake Paul beat Khabib? I mean that is the stupidest sentence I've ever heard in my entire f***ing life.

"It's just never ever gogin to happen, kinda like Jake Paul fighting someone his own size who is currently in their prime, that's never going to happen.

"Once again Jake Paul quit being a little b**** and fight someone your own size."
