Jake Paul has confirmed he will fight Nate Diaz after his rematch with Tommy Fury was ditched.
Youtuber turned boxer Paul will take on Diaz, one of the best fighters in UFC history, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on August 5, with the fight being contested at 185 pounds and over eight rounds with 10-ounce gloves.
Paul wrote on Instagram : "August 5th we commemorate the funeral for Nathaniel Diaz as we send him in casket back to Dana.
"Refreshments will be provided at the service. Black Tie Attire."
The fight will be broadcast on DAZN PPV, and will be a 50-50 linkup between Paul's Most Valuable Promotions and Diaz's Real Fight Inc, making it the first time that Diaz has ever promoted himself.
Paul lost to Tommy Fury via split decision in February in what was his first ever boxing defeat, and he had been expected to fight the younger brother of heavyweight Tyson again in a rematch.
"My last fight didn't end the way I wanted, but the result was the best thing that could have happened to my professional boxing aspirations," he said in a statement.
"Now, the world thinks I am vulnerable, when all I am is more focused than ever. My team wanted me to take an easy fight like KSI next, but that's not how I am built. Nate Diaz is considered one of the most bad-ass fighters of all time, but he and his team have been running their mouths for too long."
Diaz has fought at between 155-170 pounds at MMA, while Paul has fought at heavyweight during his boxing career and weighed in at 183.6 pounds for his bout with Fury.
The pair have engaged in trash talk on social media in the past 18 months, and last October members of their teams got into a backstage fight at an event headlined by Paul and UFC legend Anderson Silva.
After Paul's win, he then called out Diaz.
Diaz earned a submission win over Tony Ferguson in the last fight of his UFC contract last September, and was the first UFC fighter to defeat Conor McGregor in 2016.
He said in a statement: "Besides Canelo, he's [Paul] the biggest thang in boxing.
"I'm here to conquer that. I'm the King of combat sports and then I'm headed back to get my UFC belts. I f***** up Conor for acting out and now here I am again, like a Super Hero of the Real Fight game, the King of the Real Fight game."
