Jake Paul's team sets out demand for Tommy Fury's fight on Tyson's undercard

Jake Paul's team has insisted Tommy Fury must fight a "legitimate" opponent over eight rounds on the undercard of his brother Tyson's clash with Dillian Whyte.

YouTube star Paul is currently taking a break from the ring after his rematch victory over Tyron Woodley and is contemplating his next boxing challenge.

He was set to face Fury last December but the British star was forced to withdraw after suffering a broken rib and chest infection.

Paul's team have now set out what they would like to see from Fury if they are to reschedule the fight, posting on Instagram : "Fingers crossed the big news includes a legitimate opponent that isn't there to lose and it is eight rounds."

This came in response to Fury's story that he is preparing to release news on his next opponent, writing: "For anyone wondering why I am so quiet on social media, it's because I am in training camp. Big big news coming soon..."

Fury was present at his brother Tyson's press conference to promote his upcoming heavyweight clash against Whyte.

The young star is expected to feature on the undercard with the huge event taking place in front of 90,000 at Wembley Stadium.

Paul has previously refused to commit to any rescheduled date with Fury and has admitted he is not currently "motivated" to enter the ring again.

Despite his stance, Paul has proposed that Fury faces an opponent such as his former foe Tyron Woodley to set up a renewed rivalry later this year.

"He’s delusional and he sort of missed his chance and his opportunity," Paul said during an appearance on the MMA Hour when a fight next month March was mentioned.

"I sort of want him to fight Tyron Woodley and see what happens there. Because I think Tyron would knock Tommy out, so, I almost want to have them fight. Then, maybe we could run it back after that.”

Fury has fought seven times in his professional career against limited opposition largely holding losing records.

Any test against Paul would likely to be the sternest of his career but the British star believes that his rival is "scared" of reorganising the bout but is not willing to put his career on hold and wait for Paul.

"I really don't want to keep talking about this but I just can't stay silent after comments Jake Paul has made in a recent interview," said Fury.

"I'm absolutely sick of Jake Paul saying that I was 'scared' to fight. I had a broken rib and a bacterial chest infection which left me completely medically unfit to box - as stated by multiple medical professionals.

"This man never wanted to fight me, if he did we'd have a rescheduled date for you all and the fight would be back on which is exactly what I want... The easiest fight of my career."
