Jake Paul ruled out as possible opponent for rival KSI's comeback fight

Jake Paul's promotional company have ruled him out of a fight with KSI in the YouTube star's return to the boxing ring this year.

The British social media star has been living a hectic life over the past two-and-a-half years since defeating Jake's older brother Logan, but is targeting a ring return at the end of 2022.

He has signed a co-promotional deal with Wasserman and the Sauerland brothers for his return to boxing, which will include putting together YouTube boxing events at which he doesn't fight.

But he has confirmed he is interested in getting back in the ring, and even returned to sparring in recent weeks when he helped his brother Deji prepare for his own boxing comeback.

Ultimately, Deji lost his bout with Alex Wassabi, but the family remained in the headlines when KSI commented on a social media post to shut down a fan who joked that they'd be "waiting forever" for his ring return.

And after Instagram news site The Bread Batch shared a graphic indicating that Paul, who is now 5-0 as a professional with four KOs, the American's company 'Most Valuable Promotions' declared that he wasn't considering the fight.

The graphic included Paul alongside Tommy Fury, Tyron Woodley and fellow YouTuber Austin McBroom, but Paul's promoters were quick to shut down any talks of the highly-anticipated match-up.

"Jake is not an option," their account said in a comment. "KSI has himself stated he would want a “tune up” fight before hoping to secure a fight against Jake Paul. KSI is a smart lad."

They then went on to quote an interview between KSI and Jake's older brother Logan where he noted that the gap between the pair in boxing was currently a little too big.

He has indicated that McBroom will likely be his first opponent back, but the American is also eyeing up a bout with AnEsonGib for his second fight.

“For me to fight Austin, I feel like I need to fight him right now to show Jake how much I've improved," KSI said during the appearance with the elder Paul.

“I need to strike fear into him, because if I go and fight Jake right now, he has all the leverage and he can say 'I'm the A-Side,' this and that.”

"I don't like that, I need to f*** Austin up and scare the living s*** out of Jake and then it's like 'cool, now we can talk' and I'll have a bit of leverage.”

McBroom began his boxing career with a brutal stoppage win over Tik Tok star Bryce Hall last year at his own 'Social Gloves' event at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

And he has since been told that he will get a fight with KSI for his next outing, which he has been training for in the months following his debut win.

Meanwhile, Paul is currently taking a break from fighting to concern himself with promoting the undisputed lightweight title fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano which takes place in New York on April 30.
