Jake Paul has offered to work for free as a journalist's bodyguard after watching him get slapped by UFC star Nate Diaz.
Paul has long been angling for a fight with the MMA icon, which is expected to take place once Diaz is able to get out of his exclusive UFC deal. And he has drawn in reporter Shawny Mack from Full Send MMA to the feud following an altercation he had with Diaz at UFC 276 earlier this month.
Diaz took issue with social media posts the journalist had made during his days running a meme page, and during a brief interview smacked him for a joke he had made. This angered Paul when he learned of it, offering to help Mack out with security if he ever needs help with the UFC star.
"I'll be your bodyguard," Paul told the Full Send MMA reporter. "Hey Nate, the next time you do that s***, I'm f***ing you up. This is my boy, alright? Don't touch him ever again.
"I'm going to f*** you up. You get so mad. You get so mad. I'm his bodyguard now. For free. What's good, Nate Diaz? Stop running from me. Get out of your contract and I'm gonna f*** you up. Peace out."
Paul is currently in preparation for his boxing return at Madison Square Garden, which takes place next month against Hasim Rahman Jr. He was supposed to be taking on Tommy Fury, but the Brit was unable to get into America due to a travel issue that blocked him from boarding a flight to their launch press conference, and the bout was scrapped.
There had also been a tentative plan for the YouTuber to face Diaz in his return to the ring when he initially took a lengthy break back in December. At the time, the UFC star seemed to be heading towards the final fight on his deal against Vicente Luque, but that fight broke down and he is still no closer to getting out of his contract.

"I was trying to get this s*** on the road," he explained during a recent appearance on the MMA Hour. "But they don't want me out of contract and they're keeping me in there and they're holding me hostage. And I want out. That's my main objective here.
"They're slow-rolling me, they're trying to keep me under contract. And I've been doing all I can. I've never asked for so many fights in my life. Even right now, they're not letting me get in there and finish my contract.
"I don't want no more money. I want to go do different stuff. There's stuff out there for me to do, and I went in there and talked to them, and it's with all due respect.
"You're not going to let me go? I've just to deal with this more like I've been, like repeatedly trying to get the f*** out? It's my main concern every day. I train every day. I wake up and I train and I try to figure out how to deal with it."
