Jake Paul reacts to Carl Frampton's verdict of Tommy Fury fight

It seems everyone and their granny is going to be watching Jake Paul's fight with Tommy Fury this weekend.

YouTube star Paul will finally trade leather with professional boxer Fury in what has turned into a heated grudge match.

The much-anticipated clash is being held in Suadi Arabia, with all the action being shown in the UK on BT Sport Box Office for £19.95.

Paul has been at the centre of the recent phenomenon of YouTubers taking to the ring, which has divided opinion among boxing fans across the world.

Frampton himself recently hit out at the growing trend, saying some social media stars should "know their lane" when it comes to the sport.

But even the Jackal is starting to warm to the prospect of Paul and Fury going toe-to-toe.

Taking to Twitter, the BT Sport pundit said: "My wife who hates boxing wants to watch @jakepaul vs @tommytntfury My daughter who never mentions boxing wants to watch this. Grannys in the street are asking me about it and as a former fighter I want to see it. Like it or not, this is big!"

And it seems one half of the main event agrees.

Paul replied to Frampton on Twitter, saying: "Happy birthday champ. Tell the Granny's the boxer from Manchester is getting KO by the boy from Disney."

Speaking previously about YouTubers fighting, Frampton - who turned 36 on Tuesday - said

“I don’t enjoy watching the YouTube fights. I hated it at the start," he said.

"I understand what it is they’re doing, but the thing that annoyed me the most is when these YouTube guys start talking about how they want to fight Canelo Alvarez, for example.

"Know your limit, fight fellow YouTubers, but know your lane."

Frampton added: “But it does generate a lot of money and it’s bringing a new audience to boxing. At the end of the day boxing is a business – it’s one of the dirtiest businesses in the world.

"Nobody’s your friend, it’s just a conveyor belt. I was really naive – I didn’t realise it was a business at the start and I didn’t understand the ins and outs of it.

"It took me a bit longer to become wiser but once I did, I was able to see it for what it really is.”

Paul vs Fury takes place at the 15,000 capacity Diriyah Arena in Suadi Areabia this Sunday.

It is the same venuye where Antony Joshua fought Andy Ruiz for the second time back in 2019.
