Jake Paul plans new bet with Tyson Fury ahead of grudge fight against Tommy

Jake Paul has claimed he will re-propose a bet to Tyson Fury for his grudge fight against Tommy this weekend.

The high-profile influencer will lace up his gloves for the seventh time where he faces a formidable challenge from boxing star Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia on Sunday night. It has been a long and turbulent rivalry for the pair, who have been set to meet on two previous occasions but Fury has been forced to pull out in both 2021 and August last year.

For their planned meeting in 2022, Paul agreed a $1million bet publicly on social media with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson that he would pick up the win when he gets his hands on his brother. However with the fight never materialising, the wager collapsed but Paul believes the heavyweight will be interested in a new deal.

"When I met with Tyson he just said to me that it is an exciting fight and whoever loses is f***ed," Paul told BT Sport during an interview ahead of their showdown this weekend. "I think he knows though because when he was speaking it wasn't like 'Tommy is going to win', it was like 'This is going to be a really good fight and I have to pick Tommy because he is my brother'.

"There was no supporting words of affirmation as to why he will win. It was just like 'I kind of have to pick my brother because of the situation'.

"I think I have repurpose the bet but I am down to bet anything because I know I am going to win. I probably would have proposed it here [London face-off] but we will see.

"Hopefully he shows up because he is flaky and he is always fumbling the bag. But I don't know if Tommy will take his bet [name change]. I don't know if he really believes in himself, the money is really good and I think he has kind of been forced into this by the fans, media and his family. This is his biggest payday and he can actually support his family."

Paul is under significant pressure given it is his first opponent from a natural boxing background, and a l oss could derail his career in the sport. However Fury is also in a difficult position given he will be expected to hand Paul his first loss and an embarassing defeat of his own could see him leave the sport for good.

Fury's brother Tyson is expected to be ringside for the clash in the Middle East and has warned his brother that he will be left in Saudi Arabia if he is unable to pick up a victory.

Football star Cristiano Ronaldo could also be in attendance according to Paul with both men under the scrutiny of the world to deliver a career-best display.
