Jake Paul opens as huge odds-on favourite for Dana White 'boxing match'

Jake Paul has opened as a monstrous odds-on favourite for a fight with UFC president Dana White, in the wildly unlikely case that it happens.

The YouTube star has been going back-and-forth for months with MMA supremo White, and escalated the feud by dropping a 'diss track' on his rival this week.

And with the feud between Paul and White seemingly not slowing down any time soon, bookies have started to offer odds on a fight between the pair.

Of course, with White aged 52-years-old and having never boxed at a professional level, it is next to impossible that he would ever get into the ring with Paul, 24.

But American bookmaker BetOnline.ag are now offering 1/12 odds that Paul will beat White should the bout ever happen, with the UFC boss a massive 6/1 underdog.

"Hey, it could happen..." A tweet from the betting company said.

Paul is 5-0 as a professional boxer, having knocked out every opponent he has faced including his one amateur bout in 2018.

He has previously called out White for a boxing match, while the UFC president has claimed that Paul uses steroids in his fights despite him having tested negative for every one of his fights.

After White claimed he would be betting $1million on Ben Askren to beat Paul ahead of their fight in April of last year, the YouTuber said he wanted to get in the ring with the Boston native.

“Dana let’s double the bet up! $2m,” Paul responded in a post on social media.

“After I knock out Ben, we can set up Jake Paul Vs. Dana White 2021 since you consider yourself a ‘Boxer’ and me a ‘YouTuber'.”

And while it is obviously a pie-in-the-sky idea for Paul to actually box with a man more than twice his age who has never competed, it's not completely without basis.

Back in 2007, White challenged former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz to a boxing match at the height of a feud between the pair.

The UFC president legitimately trained and weighed in, but Ortiz never showed up and the rumoured fight never took place.

White claims that he would handily beat Ortiz back when they were friends and would spar in the boxing ring, although he admits he would have lost if they fought under MMA rules.

"The reality is I used to beat the living s*** out of Tito Ortiz back when we first bought this company and we used to box," White said back in 2014.

As recently as 2014, White was regularly boxing, claiming that he "boxes every day" during a media roundtable.

And he was even licensed to box Ortiz in 2007, saying that he hurt his standing with the Nevada Athletic Commission by going through the process only for the fight not to happen.

"I had to go through all the stuff with the commission," White added. "which I still to this day believe, it created a lot of bad animosity between me and the commission trying to get licensed for that fight.

"But they did it. They licensed me. I went through all the medical testing, everything, and then Tito ends up bailing on that thing the day of the weigh-ins."

However, almost a decade after he last claimed to be boxing, it's highly unlikely that we ever see White in the ring again, especially not against someone as dangerous as Paul.
