Jake Paul makes bold claim about fight purse for Ben Askren fight

Jake Paul claims he is already among the top-five highest earners in boxing.

The YouTube star yesterday announced he will take on former UFC star Ben Askren in his third professional fight on April 17.

He previously knocked out former social media star AnEsonGib before delivering a stunning KO against former NBA star Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson's return against Roy Jones Jr.

He will now headline his own show against Askren who was a wrestling-dominant fighter in mixed martial arts.

And he told ESPN : "I will earn a lot, that's all I can say. I had one of the most viral knockouts in history, due to social media and the awareness of it.

"That event did almost two million pay-per-view buys and was the eighth biggest pay-per-view in history

"When you come off a fight like that you have momentum behind you. I'm a businessman, this is a showbusiness and I'm a prizefighter, I do this for a prize.

"Theres a reason Floyd Mayweather was the highest-paid fighter of all time and that's what I want to achieve in the next five years.

"I'm in the top five [highest-paid fighters]."

Paul also vowed to knock out Askren within the first two rounds having won his first two bouts by stoppage.

"I'm so sharp right now and we're 82 days away from the fight and in practise this morning I was too sharp, I'm too fast," he added.

"We wanted to be nice and say it could go three rounds and that he has a good chin but I think by the end of this camp it will be a one to two round fight.

"He's slow and my speed will immediately show, he'll be getting hit from every angle and there's not much he can do.

"He's never had a boxing match so it's different from MMA, you cant just shoot your takedown when you're hurt.

"I don't think hell hit me. I haven't been hit once in the face in my last two fights.

"Nate Robinson landed one body shot in the clinch but I don't think Ben Askren will even hit me."
