Jake Paul makes $5m offer to Mike Tyson ahead of fight

Jake Paul has offered Mike Tyson $5m to get through four rounds of their fight

Jake Paul has offered to pay $5 million to Mike Tyson if the veteran boxer can make it through the fourth round of their bout.

The 27-year-old YouTuber is scheduled to face the former world heavyweight champion, 58, in the ring at the AT T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on November 15 and Paul has declared he will hand Tyson the cash if he can go past the mid-way point of their eight-round match without being knocked out - and if he fails, Iron Mike will have to get a tattoo that reads: "I love Jake Paul".

Paul made the announcement in a video posted on TikTok, saying: "Mikey, Mikey, if you can last more than four rounds with me, I’ll give you an extra $5 million. But, if you don’t, then you have to get a tattoo that says I love Jake Paul. Deal or no deal?’"

Tyson has yet to respond to the offer.

The match - which will be live-streamed on Netflix - had been due to take place back in July but it was postponed until November after Tyson was unable to train due to illness.

Tyson - who became the youngest ever world heavyweight champion when he beat Trevor Berbick aged 20 in 1986 - has not boxed professionally since his retirement in 2005.

The clash between the sportsman and the social media star was recently criticised by promoter Eddie Hearn, who warned the veteran boxer should not be returning to the ring.

Hearn told BBC Sport: "The reality is that 20 years ago when Mike Tyson retired from the sport he was shot, completely finished. It was actually sad to watch then, 20 years ago ...

"I'm in awe of him - he's one of my favourite ever fighters, one of the greatest of all time - but he's a 58-year-old man. You only need to speak to him and look at him to know this guy should not be in a ring again."
