Jake Paul has been made a new offer to fight Tommy Fury early next year.
The YouTube star and his Love Island star rival have been going back-and-forth in an effort to organise a third fight date, but talks have slowed in recent days. The Brit set a deadline for today to have contracts sent over, which Paul's team claimed they were working towards in a tweet from their Most Valuable Promotions account.
And now Middle Eastern outfit Global Titans, who put on the controversial Floyd Mayweather vs Deji card earlier this month, have come in with an offer to stage the bout. Paul's promotional outfit had looked to stage their previous two doomed meetings, but spent millions promoting fights in December and August only for Fury to pull out with weeks to fight night.
As a result, they have made sure any deal going forward would see the Brit's team paying his purse in case that he were to skip the fight again. And in a new statement, Global Titans said: "Global Titans have made an offer to Jake Paul to fight Tommy Fury on a Global Titans event in early 2023. We are still awaiting a response and would welcome the prospect of a GT vs Most Valuable Promotions fight card from top to bottom."
It's believed Fury is still with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions, and Paul's team have stayed in touch with the British promotional company in regards to staging the fight. But he is keen to have Global Titans involved after having his first outing with them on the Mayweather vs Deji undercard.
The Brit's initial tweet to his rival on Sunday had read: "Jake Paul, if you want this fight to happen with me and Global Titans in Feb or March in any location decided by GT, we can have the contracts sent by Wednesday." And when Paul didn't respond, he last night added: "NO RESPONSE to my team from Jake Paul in regards to sorting contracts for this fight. My last tweet until I have some communication from your side."
Fury had been due to face Paul Bamba in a light-heavyweight showdown, but when the pair came in at wildly different weights, seemingly as a result of a contractual error, he ended up in an exhibition with Rolly Lambert instead. Paul commentated the scoreless exhibition from ringside and rowed with Fury and his dad John at ringside.

Should this deal go ahead, it will be the third time that Paul and Fury have signed to fight one another within the last year. The pair began feuding at the start of 2021, and eventually came to terms for a December 18 meeting at the Amalie Arena in Florida, which was cancelled when the Love Island star pulled out with a broken rib.
After Paul faced Tyron Woodley in a late-notice rematch on that date that struggled at the box office, the pair then agreed to fight at Madison Square Garden in New York on August 6 after weeks of public back-and-forth. But Fury was stopped from coming into America on his way to the pre-fight press conference, and that bout was cancelled, as was the event itself, ultimately.
But Paul has not yet given up on the idea of facing his rival, and the terms appear to be that Fury must fight a venue where they can fight. At that point, their teams will come together and find a way to fund their purses, with the American expecting to make as much as $10million to compete.
