Jake Paul has used "secret weapon" to prepare for Anderson Silva fight

Jake Paul has prepared for his fight with UFC legend Anderson Silva by bringing in a “secret weapon”.

Paul, 25, faces the toughest test of his newfound boxing career in 47-year-old Silva this Saturday. The YouTuber-turned-boxer has gone through 50 sparring partners in the last year, testing himself against the likes of former world champion Chad Dawson and Tyson Fury ’s former opponent Steve Cunningham. Led by his coach BJ Flores, Paul carried out his entire training camp for Silva in his Puerto Rico gym and brought in a “secret weapon” to prepare for the Brazilian.

“We brought a little secret weapon into camp and it has paid off drastically,” Flores said. “We're excited about it and all of Jake's sparring partners have been saying the same thing, we’ve tried to keep it quiet but we'll find out on Saturday. No hints but it will be obvious after the fight. It's going to be a drastic difference." Paul has previously vowed to use his “secret punches” to knockout Silva and Flores refused to reveal specifics about the “weapon” they implemented his fighter's training camp."

Paul has knocked out every professional opponent he's faced and looks to keep up that impressive feat against Silva, who put the fight in jeopardy by stating he was knocked out twice in sparring before backtracking on his comments. Paul had just one white-collar fight against fellow YouTube star Deji, the brother of KSI, before turning professional and Flores believes the American's lack of amateur experience has contributed to his "unorthodox" style.

"Jake has a unique style because he didn't have an amateur background," Flores added. "He doesn't have that traditional jab, right hand, left hook, right cross. He's a non-conventional fighter, a very hard puncher and is unorthodox. That kind of throws people off, he doesn't do normal things in the ring that a conventional boxer would do. He punches to the body very well and has got, what a lot of people have no idea about, a tremendous chin.

"I think this fight is going to be the one that opens a lot of peoples eyes. It's unfair to criticise a kid who has only been boxing for two years in his fifth main event already and his third eight-round fight as well. Everyone is recognising Anderson as a tough guy and everybody in the MMA community all think Anderson is going to beat Jake, so this one will open peoples eyes.
