Jake Paul explains why he ran from Floyd Mayweather after confrontation with legend

Jake Paul insists he made a smart decision when he fled a confrontation with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

YouTube star Paul has made several enemies since beginning his career in the boxing ring, which includes retired star Mayweather. The pair clashed at the press conference for his brother Logan's exhibition against the former champion, after the 'Problem Child' sparked a wild brawl after stealing Mayweather's hat.

Footage emerged of a new altercation between the pair last week, after Mayweather and his entourage decided to confront Paul outside an NBA match that they both attended in Miami. Several members of Mayweather's team got out in multiple cars to take on the influencer by heckling him before he was filmed fleeing from the scene to prevent further escalation of the confrontation.

Paul initially suggested that things may have become violent if he had stayed, and instead made an offer to fight Mayweather in the boxing ring. However after reflecting on the incident, Paul has suggested that he was ready to go to war with the entourage but sense prevailed.

“We got got. It was like a full-on Army Delta Force on a mission,” said Paul when reflecting on the latest episode of BS with Jake Paul. “I’ve never been caught lacking and I feel like such a b***h. I am a b***h. One to five dudes, let’s f***ing go. Six or more, I’m a b***h. I’m that p***y right now. I’m not even going to cap. I made the smart decision. They had two cameras ready. They had both angles.

"They were about to chop this s*** together like a TikTok. We’re walking and all of a sudden out of nowhere Floyd’s all of a sudden right there with nine people in a straight wall. I was like, ‘do you just want to talk?’ And then boom, another car is right there. These dudes slowly started to create this sort of surrounding barrier around me to kind of close me in. They attacked at the right time because there was a wall behind me.

"So they came at the perfect time. I felt like a Spartan for one second. I was like, ‘I’m either gonna kill all these people.’ But then I just realised that wasn’t possible. Another car with five dudes pulls up. “They start to come at me really fast. I’m wearing the RM, didn’t want to get punked and get my sh*t stolen. I just take off and the guy swings at me.”

Paul has regularly campaigned for a fight against the retired 50-0 star but wants it to be a professional fight as opposed to an exhibition clash. Mayweather remains active on the exhibition circuit, but has hinted he could one day return in a final professional outing, providing the opponent is of a lower level.
