Jake Paul claims KSI's two fights on one night were not sanctioned bouts

Jake Paul has noticed KSI's two professional fights against Swarmz and Luis Alcaraz Pineda were not sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control.

The YouTube star - real name JJ Olatunji - fought and stopped rapper Swarmz and professional boxer Pineda, who held a record of two victories and five losses. KSI proved a class above the pair on the night at London's O2 arena last weekend, and claimed to have fought a professional boxer before Paul who has fought AnEson Gib, Nate Robinson, Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley in his career so far.

KSI spoke about the issue of keeping the fights to three rounds to get them professionally sanctioned, which were understood to have been commissioned by the Professional Boxing Association. However Paul, in a now deleted tweet, once again called out Olatunji for his level of opponent, writing: "I thought this past weekend he fought in professional fights?"

"Oh wait, the fights were not sanctioned by a real commission like the BBBofC, and he is next going to fight AnEson Gib who I thought almost three years ago and knocked out within one round. That is something he couldn't do against a rapper and a nice Mexican kid."

Paul originally attached a screenshot of KSI's boxing record which did not show his two most recent outings, instead simply showing his one professional victory over Paul's brother Logan in their 2019 rematch. Prior to the bout, KSI's manager Mams Taylor posted a screenshot of their professionally sanctioned fight agreement with the PBA.

In the organisation's official statement, it read: "Misfits Boxing is licensed and regulated by the PBA. We can confirm that all boxers competing on the event will have full professional boxing medicals completed come August 27 and that the boxers will wear 10oz gloves, competing over three minute rounds and not wearing headguards."

Paul has had his bouts professionally sanctioned, including his ill-fated outings against Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr which had both been cleared by the New York Athletic State Commission to take place at Madison Square Garden.

It is expected Paul and KSI the pair will meet next year but not before the latter competes on his own Misfits Boxing card which is expected to also take place in the UK next January. KSI has already offered a winner-takes-all bout, tweeting: "I'm going to send you a contract. We fight next year. Wembley Stadium. Winner of the fight takes all. 100 per cent of the purse will be on the line. Put your money where your mouth is and let’s finally end this. Will you accept Jake Paul?"

Paul later replied: "Good morning guy 'fighting' rapper with t-shirt on. Your hometown and winner takes all. 1000 per cent I accept, but one condition… you have to reply and admit that as of TODAY when it comes to boxing, I am better."
