Jake Paul claims he is ready to fight Tommy Fury with February agreement reached

Jake Paul is still in plans to fight Tommy Fury in February despite their past two fight bookings falling through.

Paul was first scheduled to take on Love Island star Fury last December, but the Brit pulled out of the fight due to a bacterial infection and broken rib. 'The Problem Child' knocked out short-notice replacement Tyron Woodley in their rematch after previously beating the ex-UFC champion three months earlier. The win set up a rescheduled fight with Fury that was supposed to take place in New York last month, but he again withdrew due to travel issues.

UFC legend Anderson Silva will serve as the opponent for Paul's sixth professional fight on October 29, so Paul will need to get past the crafty Brazilian before thinking about a rescheduled fight with Fury. The American briefly spoke with Fury on FaceTime last weekend as the pair agreed to fight in February.

"Had a call with Tommy Fury. Yeah, they're saying we're going to fight in February," Paul said on his BS podcast. "I think he actually can't come into the United States. So if I fight him in the UK, I think parts of it are shady, I don't think we're getting the full truth on everything, but regardless, it's a great matchup and I really want to knock him out."

Fury picked up his first win of the calendar year by competing on his brother, heavyweight champion Tyson's, undercard in April as he outpointed Daniel Bocianski to improve to 8-0. The Love Island star will become a father later this year as he and girlfriend Molly Mae-Hague recently announced they are expecting their first child together.

Mirror Fighting revealed that Paul's former opponent Woodley was in talks to fight Fury in November, but discussions collapsed and Fury will instead fight unknown professional boxer Paul Bamba. Woodley addressed his failed fight with Fury whilst speaking with Paul on his podcast, stating: "What's up with Tommy? This dude don't want to fight nobody! Some people hit me up about him. I didn't get nothing confirmed but they asked me. Tommy, I don't know nothing about him. I haven't heard s*** besides him not wanting to fight people.

"I'm old school, so when somebody asks us about a fight it's like 'hey do you want to fight this person' if you say yes, it's a contract. There's no yes then a whole bunch of other stuff. A lot of this cap, people will say they want to fight certain people because it looks good and gives them credibility, but you've actually got to step up to the plate."
