Jake Paul claims he holds three advantages over Canelo Alvarez during latest call-out

Jake Paul has claimed that he is faster, bigger and more athletic than Canelo Alvarez as he continues to talk up a meeting with the Mexican.

The YouTube star has had five fights in his professional career and recently defeated Tyron Woodley in a rematch of their recent rivalry with a brutal stoppage.

Paul is awaiting his next opponent but has continued to talk up several fights including with UFC star Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor.

But the 25-year-old believes a fight with Alvarez could be "big" if the pair can meet in the boxing ring but does not believe he is a better boxer overall than the pound-for-pound star.

“Other people think [I am not ready to fight Alvarez]," Paul said on ESPN's First Take. "People try to place limits on what is possible for you.

"You are a unicorn doing something different ... for me, I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. I know I can get after Canelo, I know I can go rounds with him and the guy he fought the other time, the Turkish warrior [Avni Yildirim], quit after three rounds and he didn't throw one punch.

"I’m bigger than Canelo, I’m faster than Canelo, I’m more athletic than Canelo. Can I box better? Probably not, but after three years, that’s going to be a big fight. Two of the biggest names in boxing going after each other.”

Paul has frequently taunted Alvarez during his boxing rise as he looks to set up a clash with the undisputed 168lbs champion.

The YouTube star is comfortable fighting at the cruiserweight limit which Alvarez has had a move sanctioned in a bid to win the WBC title from champion Ilunga Makabu.

It will likely be a while until any potential fight is entertained with Alvarez currently deciding between two offers to face Jermall Charlo or Dmitry Bivol followed by a trilogy against Gennady Golovkin.

Paul immediately responded to his victory over Woodley by goading the Mexican into a fight by posting on Twitter : "I hope you are training."

Alvarez has previously suggested he will not entertain a clash with Paul but refused to rule out a mega-money showdown.

And the 25-year-old believes his recent boxing exploits have positioned him well to secure a clash with boxing's leading star.

"I think he's great," Paul said during an interview for In Depth with Graham Bensinger. "I respect him.

"I think we've had words back-and-forth and he says I need to work on my boxing ability, which I agree with of course, 100 per cent I do.

"I've really come to like his personality actually, I think when he started doing more media, showing his life behind the scenes, he never really had done that before.

"I watched [Bensinger's interview with Alvarez] and I realised he's a good guy and maybe in a different lifetime we would probably be friends. However, I still want to fight him, I still think it would be a massive fight and I think my path is leading to that."
