Jake Paul casts doubt on Tommy Fury fight despite agreeing to February meeting

Jake Paul has cast fresh doubt on him finally touching gloves with Tommy Fury insisting he may not hand his rival another chance.

The YouTube star has shared a long-term rivalry with British star Fury, and the pair were set to finally touch gloves last December but the latter was forced to withdraw with a broken rib. It looked as if the social media stars would step into the ring back in August after successfully rescheduling their bout with both men signing on the dotted line.

However Fury was banned from the US and the fight was shelved, with Paul now taking on Anderson Silva in Phoenix this weekend while the Briton will take on Paul Bamba on November 13 in Abu Dhabi. The American star claimed earlier this month that an agreement is now in place for the pair to rekindle their rivalry for a third time next February providing they both win their upcoming outings.

But Paul has now made a surprising U-turn instead suggesting that after conversations with his brother Logan and father, he could be reluctant to risk financial losses again. "Yeah I'm tired of them wasting our money so if Tommy pulls out again it is their money," Paul told reporters at the press conference for his upcoming fight when asked if he will leave organisation to Fury's team.

"For sure I am fearful it will happen again, I am still sceptical about it. My brother tells me every day and my dad calls me everyday near enough and they both say 'Don't give that f***er another chance' so I don't know yet we might not."

Paul is currently focused on the final stages of preparations for his clash with UFC legend Silva, but previously held a FaceTime call with Amanda Serrano which was hijacked by Fury. During their conversation which was broadcast on social media, Fury and Paul agreed to settle the scores providing the fight takes place in a venue outside of the UK.

It is understood talks have taken place regarding a renewed battle next year, which was confirmed by Fury's father John who insisted the pair need to finally put a stop to the talking and enter the ring. "I was sat with his people at the Joseph Parker, Joe Joyce fight and we talked about things," Fury Sr told Mirror Fighting. "Everything was very positive. We want this to happen so we will be sitting down to sort it and make sure a deal will be finalised this time.

"The fight is very much alive. Take the Jake Paul fight it is what the fans want. Boxing is all about the entertainment business, and Tommy and Jake Paul is entertainment. It is off the richter scale with them two so they need to fight. There is plenty of time to fight anybody but we just want this Jake Paul thing sorted. We will accommodate Jake Paul next year."
