Jake Paul calls out Mike Tyson for $300million heavyweight comeback fight

Jake Paul would be willing to bulk up to heavyweight for a fight with Mike Tyson, which he believes could be worth as much as $300million.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer and his brother Logan have both been linked with mega-money deals to face Tyson in his second fight since returning to the ring in 2020, but as yet he has rebuked those reports. The former heavyweight champion has previously indicated it would take as much as $1billion to make the fight happen, but also has refused to rule it out completely.

And now Paul believes that there is a great opportunity for the pair to get the fight made, telling pal Bear Degidio on his podcast The Journey that he believes it could make them both massive money. "For sure," Paul said of a fight with Tyson.

"I joke with my friends about it, I'm like I'll start eating Krispy Kreme doughnuts, move up to heavyweight and fight Mike Tyson. That would actually excite me and that's a $200-300million event. So Mike, if you're watching this let's have some fun. New school vs old school and I think that's something that the fans would want to see."

Tyson has previously said that he would entertain the right offer, claiming he needs the money for a comeback fight despite launching successful businesses in recent years and the major success of his last ring return against Roy Jones Jr. The fight with Jones, before which Paul was the co-main event against Nate Robinson, broke the top 10 highest-selling pay-per-view events in history.

"I ain’t know nothing about it," Tyson said of the possible rematch on an episode of his podcast, before demanding that he be paid an astronomical sum. "Listen, I’ve been smoking with him forever, I did some shrooms with him as well. But I’ve never heard this.

“I was with him in St Barts not too long ago partying and he never told me this. I’ve never heard this from nobody, I’ve just heard this from you guys. We got to get some more man s***, blue-eyed, blonde hair, that s*** is very expensive, we need to get some more money, man. Hey, I ain’t got no f****** money. So where’s the f****** contract?"

Tyson retired from active competition in 2005 when he was stopped by Irishman Kevin McBride in Washington DC. He flirted with comebacks for years, but finally stepped between the ropes again in November 2020 where he fought to a draw against Jones in an exhibition bout.

Despite fighting at cruiserweight throughout his 5-0 professional career, Paul would have a considerable height and reach advantage over Tyson, who is 5'10" with a 71" reach to Paul's 6'1" with a 76" reach.
