Jake Paul has fired back at Top Rank promoter Bob Arum branding him a "dinosaur" after he claimed that people don't "pay attention" to women's boxing.
Paul represents female star Amanda Serrano with his promotional label Most Valuable Promotions, and has been at the centre of completed negotiations for a historic tilt with Katie Taylor.
Arum has claimed that the fight between the female pair will not attract the same interest as the clash he will stage on the same night between Oscar Valdez and Shakur Stevenson.
The YouTube star immediately criticised Arum's comments, posting on Twitter : "Men like this dinosaur are the reason women haven’t been given a fair shake in many parts of society.
"I feel sorry for Mikaela Mayer she deserves better. And he says ESPN doesn’t care about the biggest women’s boxing event in history? #TaylorSerrano will make history with or without you."
Taylor's clash with Serrano will also be promoted by Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, and will take place at New York's iconic Madison Square Garden.
Meanwhile the 130-pound unification bout between Valdez and Stevenson is set to take place on the same night and will be promoted by Arum and Top Rank.
Arum claimed he was unconcerned by the illustrious events taking place head-to-head in America, and compared it to the " Premier League against women's football".
“As good a fight as that is, I mean, come on," Arum told iFL TV. "For whatever reason people don’t particularly pay attention to the women’s fights.
"ESPN made the schedule and they couldn’t care less. I don’t want to denigrate fights and I don’t want to be accused of being anti-women in sports but I’m telling you this is like the Premier League against women’s football."
Paul is using his platform to provide the best promotional campaign possible for the event and will come to the UK and tour with Hearn to raise the profile further of the event.

Taylor and Serrano is considered arguably the biggest fight in women's boxing alongside any potential meeting between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall.
Hearn has promoted Taylor throughout her incredible career at the pinnacle of women's boxing, but praised his promoting counterpart Paul for his role in creating the mega-fight.
“It’s good [working with Jake Paul ]. He’ll want to be the hero, really. He wants to be the guy who makes this fight," Hearn told talkSPORT.
“For once, I’ll probably won’t say too much, I’ll let him get up there and do his thing, which is great. He’s going to be bringing a lot of noise to the show, he’s going to be bringing a lot of eyeballs, he’s a smart man. I can only judge him on how I’ve found him.
“I did his pro debut [in 2020], it’s probably all my fault [laughs]. In this instance, he’s done it. Me and him have put together the greatest female fight of all-time. Can’t knock it.”
