A potential rematch between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury in the boxing ring could pave the way for a crossover into the world of mixed martial arts (MMA). The offer on the table proposes a second boxing match between the two fighters, with a stipulation that if Paul emerges victorious, a third fight would take place in the MMA arena under the PFL banner.
The chairman of PFL revealed that Fury stands to earn a substantial sum, estimated between $15 and $20 million for both fights, a figure that surpasses what he could earn from other potential matchups. The offer for the boxing rematch reportedly includes a high-seven-figure payout for Fury.
The initial encounter between Paul, a social media influencer turned professional boxer, and Fury resulted in a split decision victory for Fury in February 2023. Following this win, Fury secured another victory against KSI, a fellow YouTuber turned boxer, by unanimous decision in October.
Paul, with only one loss on his professional boxing record, rebounded from his defeat to Fury by defeating UFC veteran Nate Diaz in a boxing match last August. Subsequently, Paul has been strategically selecting opponents to gain experience and progress towards a potential championship title, boasting a record of 8 wins and 1 loss in boxing, with 5 victories coming by knockout.
In his most recent bout in December, Paul secured a first-round knockout against Andre August. He is scheduled to return to the ring on March 2 to face former Golden Gloves champion Ryan Bourland as part of the co-main event in Puerto Rico.
Expressing his determination to pursue a world championship title, Paul emphasized his focus on his boxing career trajectory. He highlighted his willingness to face Fury again and reiterated his ultimate goal of becoming a world champion, underscoring his commitment to his chosen path in the sport.
