Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather have been accused of staging their recent altercation by UFC president Dana White.
Paul and Mayweather have shared a rivalry since the YouTube star stole the boxing legend's hat at the press conference for his exhibition with Paul's brother Logan. The event sparked a mass feud which has since resurfaced every so often, with Paul claiming he is willing to step in the ring with Mayweather himself - but only in a professional fight.
Last week, footage emerged of Mayweather and his huge entourage confronting Paul outside an NBA match in Miami before the influencer decided to scarper to prevent. But White insists he is not buying that the altercation was real, claiming that the approach from Mayweather was not in his usual style.
“I just can’t see Floyd doing that,” White said on an interview with TMZ Sports when discussing the viral footage. “I can’t see Floyd rolling up on somebody and doing that. It’s not Floyd’s style. It’s not really his personality. I thought it was a skit. I’m not buying it. When’s the last time you saw Floyd Mayweather act like a thug and roll up on somebody with 50 people? That’s just not what Floyd does. Yeah, I’m not buying it.”
Sources close to Mayweather insisted after the video was released that they did not intend to come across Paul outside the arena, but the legend was left angered by Paul's previous comments. The 'Problem Child' had been chasing a contest with Mayweather for several months, but appeared to give up hope after being knocked back given 'Money' no longer fights as a professional.
However Paul appeared to reignite his offer following the chance meeting, tweeting: "Floyd if you want to fight one on one we can do that but don’t try to hop out of three cars 25 dudes deep trying to jump me while I’m trying enjoy my Wednesday night."

He later released a response video explaining the turn of events in Miami, shouting: "I'm at the Miami Heat game and Floyd Mayweather and 50 dudes pull up out of nowhere. Out of some like side alley waiting for me outside of the stadium. They’re like ‘What’s up, what’s all that talk now!’ I’m like first of all, what did I say to you Floyd? I just took your hat and you’re still mad about it? Come on, bro.
"Then 50 dudes literally start surrounding me trying to jump me. I’m out of that b****. Floyd, you want to run it one-on-one, no problem but I’m not dumb. I’m tough, I don’t need to prove my toughness but I’m not f****** dumb. I’m not going to sit there and try to fight 50 dudes. Dipped out of that b****. Floyd, you’re a h** bro.
