JAIPUR: JMC-Greater has decided to float zone-wise tenders of door-to-door garbage collection and do away with the BVG company.
Commissioner Yagya Mitra Singhdev, during a meeting held at the EC Hall of JMC-Greater, directed the officials to complete preparations.
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) cards will be placed in front of each house which will be swept daily. Through this, the civic body will collect user charges and monitor work daily from the headquarters, explained the commissioner.
Hoopers will be tendered for each ward for transportation of heaps collected during sweeping by the corporation personnel. A separate tender floated for waste transportation from the secondary collection point to the waste dumping yard.
Similarly, a separate tender will be made to provide one JCB and two dumpers in each zone for the lifting of construction and demolition (C&D) waste. This has also been implemented in the JMC-Heritage.
To solve the problem of sewerage, separate tenders will be made for providing super sucker machines in each zone and desilting of sewerage lines. For drain cleaning, based on the information of Zone XEN and the councillor of the ward concerned, the drains will be marked and cleaned for which tenders will be floated.
Illegal hoardings are a big nuisance in the corporation. Hence, the commissioner gave instructions to the official concerned to provide vehicles to all zones for their removal. Deputy commissioner (revenue) said in a meeting that notices have been issued regarding illegal hoardings which are being removed through a special campaign.
