Jailed ex-soldier Lisa Smith will be allowed to say prayers five times a day, as well as being provided with special Islamic food while serving her sentence for being a member of Isis.
The 40-year-old, jailed for 15 months at the Special Criminal Court on Friday, is the first person to be convicted in an Irish court of membership in another country of an Islamic terrorist organisation.
Smith from Dundalk, Co Louth, was brought to the Dochas Centre in the Mountjoy complex in Dublin but it is unclear where she will serve her full sentence.

If she remains in Dublin she will have a much easier time than if she serves her sentence in the State’s only other female prison in Limerick.
Prisoners in the Dochas Centre are accommodated in seven separate houses, each holding up to 10-12 women.
There is one larger house which can accommodate 18.
Smith will be allowed to practise her Islamic religion, which involves praying five times a day with the earliest prayer session beginning at dawn and the latest at dusk.
It is unclear if Smith, who will require special halal meat, will eat with the other prisoners.
But if she is sent to Limerick Prison she could be in for a much tougher time, as well as being further away from her family in Co Louth.
A a source told Irish Sunday Mirror that if the mother-of-one is sent to Limerick jail, she will more than likely put on E-Wing alongside Scissor Sister Charlotte Mulhall, child killer Karen Harrington and Ireland’s only female asssassin, Rose Lynch.
The source said that Smith will be locked up 23 hours a day and will not be allowed to mix with other inmates.
The source added: “Other inmates on the landing include Barbie Kardashian, who was found guilty of threatening to kill her mother and Sonya Egan, who was jailed for harassing a former TD.
“Smith will not mix with any of the other inmates and she will eat and exercise on her own too.”
The source continued: “When it comes to food, all her dietary needs are facilitated.
“Halal meat will be ordered for her if that is what she wishes to eat.
“This type of meat is specially prepared so will most likely be bought in.
“She will also be allowed to contact an Imam the same way an inmate can contact a priest and she can do her daily prayers in her cell.”
Smith was sentenced to 15 months for membership of Isis but was found not guilty of funding terrorism.
The court rejected Smith’s claims she had travelled to the Islamic State simply out of a sense of religious obligation and for the purpose of living under Sharia law.
On Friday, Justice Tony Hunt said it was a serious matter for an Irish citizen and former defence forces member to take up allegiance to a foreign terrorist organisation.
He said Smith had “followed rather than led” but knew exactly the nature of the organisation.
Justice Hunt said: “We have imposed sentence, determined the verdict and backdated the sentence to June 21.”
