Jaguars WR Christian Kirk addresses season-ending injury

The Jaguars lost wide receiver Christian Kirk to a season-ending injury for a second consecutive season this past Sunday, with their starting slot going down with a broken collarbone which requires surgery.

Kirk shared a message with Jaguars fans via Instagram Tuesday, promising to return to football “better than ever” once he recovers from his latest hurt.

Defining moments like this in our lives provide an opportunity to show who we are in our core. The “obstacle” is always the way, and that’s how I choose to attack it. My journey is far from over in this league, and know I’ll be back better than ever.

To Duval, my teammates, coaches, and family, I’m sorry that I won’t be out there for the rest of the season. I’ve loved every moment of being apart of this organization, and hopefully will spend many more Sundays in a Jags uniform.

I love this game more than anything.. I promise you will see the best version of myself come next season… until then.

Kirk experienced the injury while attempting to catch a pass on 3rd and 11 in the fourth quarter against Green Bay on Sunday. He landed on his left shoulder as Packers linebacker Edgerrin Cooper fell on top of him attempting to make a tackle.

Last season, Kirk suffered a season-ending core muscle injury in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kirk finished the 2024 season with 27 receptions for 379 yards and one touchdown, bringing his three-year, 37-game line with the Jaguars to 168 receptions for 2,274 yards and 12 touchdowns.
