Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is among the finalists for the NFL’s AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Joining Thomas among that finalist group are tight end Brock Bowers, quarterbacks Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix, along with fellow wide receiver Malik Nabers.

This is just another honor for Thomas, who put together a highly impressive rookie season. He’s also been named a Pro Bowler and a member of the PFWA All-Rookie team.
Thomas finished the regular season catching 67% of his 129 targets at 14.7 yards per catch with 10 touchdowns. His 1,282 receiving yards were the fourth-most among all wide receivers and the most among rookies.
Compared to what was a loaded rookie draft class at the receiver position, Thomas was first in yards, touchdowns, and yards per route run.
Making this performance even more impressive was that in a Jaguars’ offense that struggled to put up points, defenses knew Thomas was a focal point and they still struggled to stop him.
His speed coupled with his ability as a route runner makes him a threat at all parts of the field. He can win vertically or on short to intermediate routes and turn them into explosive gains with his YAC ability.
Being named one of the finalists for this award is a feat on its own, but when it comes to winning it, that honor will in all likelihood go to Jayden Daniels, who has the Commanders on the cusp of going to the Super Bowl.
