Jaguars vs. Dolphins: Wednesday injury reports for Week 1

The first batch of injury reports for Jacksonville and Miami’s 2024 season are live. And they look quite different from one another.

The Jaguars enter Week 1 “pretty healthy at this stage,” head coach Doug Pederson said Monday, with only one player named on their report: Safety Daniel Thomas, a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice.

Miami, meanwhile, was without four members of its active roster in practice Wednesday, with 12 players impacted by injuries or taking a rest day in total.

Find both teams’ initial Week 1 injury reports below.

Jacksonville Jaguars

  • S Daniel Thomas (Achilles) — limited

Analysis: Pederson labeled Thomas, who has been dealing with an Achilles injury since Week 2 of the preseason, as “day-to-day” before practice on Wednesday. The Jaguars will monitor Thomas throughout the week and intend to increase his practice workload daily.

Miami Dolphins

  • S Jevon Holland (ankle) — full
  • WR Malik Washington (quadricep) — limited
  • LB Anthony Walker (knee/veteran rest) — limited
  • S Jordan Poyer (thumb/veteran rest) — limited
  • LB David Long (veteran rest) — limited
  • DT Benito Jones (knee) — limited
  • CB Kendall Fuller (veteran rest) — limited
  • C Aaron Brewer (hand) — limited
  • LB Quinton Bell (thumb) — limited
  • CB Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) — did not participate
  • LB Jaelan Phillips (Achilles/veteran rest) — did not participate
  • DT Calais Campbell (veteran rest) — did not participate
  • OT Terron Armstead (veteran rest) — did not participate

Analysis: The Dolphins’ injury report does not include four players on Miami’s reserve/physically unable to perform list: Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn, edge rusher Bradley Chubb and linebacker Cameron Goode.

This pairs with eight players currently on Miami’s injured reserve.

Five members of Miami’s first-team depth chart — Brewer, Jones, Phillips, Ramsey and Poyer — were restrained in some capacity by injuries on Wednesday. Ramsey, a former Jaguars cornerback and first-round NFL draft pick, was unable to practice.
