Jaguars schedule interview with Bills OC Joe Brady for head coach opening

The Jacksonville Jaguars will reportedly interview Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady for their head coaching opening on Saturday, according to Gene Frenette of The Florida Times-Union.

The 2024 season is Brady’s first as the Bills’ full-time offensive coordinator. In 2022 and 2023, he was the quarterbacks coach and then filled in as the interim offensive coordinator in 2023.

Brady has also previously held the offensive coordinator title with the Carolina Panthers during the 2020-2021 seasons.

The Bills’ offense this season has operated at a high level both on the ground and through the air, ranking in the top-10 in both yards per rush and yards per pass attempt. The end result is an offense that finished second in scoring behind only the Detroit Lions.

In an interview with the Bills’ team site this past offseason, Brady noted that the Buffalo offense is tailored around Josh Allen with the game-plans and play-calls reflecting his strengths, while also being mindful of what the skill position players do well, so that they are put in positions to succeed.

Like any coordinator, Brady has his own philosophy and system, but he builds it around the skill sets that he has on the roster.

“There’ll be some elements of things that I believe in, but it’s more of like, tell me who we have on our football team and the guys and what they can do well and we’re going to do that,” Brady said.

ESPN insider Dan Graziano recently predicted that Brady would be who the Jaguars hire as their head coach.
