When it comes to the Jacksonville Jaguars ability to bolster their roster this upcoming offseason, do they have the necessary assets to do so compared to the rest of the NFL?
Timo Riske of Pro Football Focus recently set out to find out the answer to that question–and not only for the Jaguars, but for the rest of the NFL.
There are, of course, two primary avenues when it comes to adding to a roster: free agency and the draft.
In order to figure out each team’s available offseason assets, Riske took into account the current cap situation, their ability to restructure certain contracts to help create more cap space this offseason, along with each team’s draft capital–both the quantity and the quality of those picks.

For the Jaguars, with 10 selections in the upcoming draft, along with picking near the top in each of the seven rounds, they rank second in draft capital value, according to Riske’s calculations.
When it comes to cap space, the current $35.66 million that the Jaguars have, according to Over the Cap ranks 17th in the NFL.
However, when also factoring in the rollover amount of unused cap space from 2024, which is just shy of $16 million, along with their ability to create additional cap space through either veteran cuts or contract restructures, the Jaguars will have their share of spending power this offseason if they choose to use it.
With all of that taken into consideration, the Jaguars actually come out quite well in Riske’s evaluation, ranking eighth among all NFL teams in 2025 offseason assets available to them.
Some of the positions of need for Jacksonville that will require those assets are cornerback, safety, the interior defensive line, and the offensive line.
After a four-win season, there is work to be done, but the Jaguars have several foundational players already on the roster and at important positions with Trevor Lawrence, Josh Hines-Allen, and Brian Thomas.
But step No. 1 for this organization, before the roster construction process can begin, is they have to get the head coaching hire right this time.
