The Jacksonville Jaguars placed cornerback Christian Braswell on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, the team announced Saturday.
Braswell, 24, was a healthy scratch in Week 1, but played the next three games after fellow cornerback Gregory Junior landed on injured reserve. The sixth-round rookie played just nine total snaps — all on special teams — during those three appearances, but missed the Jaguars’ 25-20 win against the Buffalo Bills.
This week, Braswell was a limited participant in practice Thursday before sitting out the team’s Friday practice.
With the Jaguars now having both Junior and Braswell on the injured reserve, the team has four cornerbacks on the active roster: Tyson Campbell, Darious Williams, Tre Herndon III, and Montaric “Buster” Brown. However, the team recently got rookie defensive back Antonio Johnson back from a hamstring injury and have begun working him into the secondary.
Jacksonville has veteran cornerback Tevaughn Campbell and sixth-round rookie cornerback Erick Hallett II on the practice squad.
