The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to build out their new coaching staff under head coach Liam Coen.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Jaguars are hiring Tem Lukabu to be their new linebackers coach under defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile.
Most recently, Lukabu was the Carolina Panthers outside linebackers coach. In total, Lukabu has seven years of coaching experience at the NFL level.
At the college level, he has been both an outside linebackers coach and linebackers coach at a few different schools, along with being the Boston College defensive coordinator from 2020-2022.
Of note, Lukabu was the defensive coordinator at Boston College when Jeff Hafley was the head coach there. Hafley was also the Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator this past season, while Campanile was the team’s linebackers coach. So perhaps there will be some overlap between the Jaguars defense under Campanile and what Hafley has run over the years.
The linebacker position, particularly Devin Lloyd, should benefit greatly from the addition of Campanile as the defensive coordinator.
What we know right now about the Jaguars coaching staff is that Richard Angulo will return to coach the tight ends. There is also a reported front-runner for the offensive coordinator role and the Jaguars have had several candidates in to interview for the offensive line coach opening.
