The Jacksonville Jaguars and Liam Coen have their new offensive coordinator.
The team announced on Wednesday night that they are hiring Minnesota Vikings’ assistant quarterbacks coach Grant Udinski.
“Grant will bring a wealth of knowledge, energy and a winning mindset to help lead our offense here in Jacksonville,” said Head Coach Liam Coen in a statement. “He is a rising star in this league that has been a pillar of success for the Vikings organization and we can’t wait to have him lead our offense.”

Only 29 years old, Udinski has been a fast riser in the coaching ranks. This coaching cycle alone, Tom Pelissero mentioned that Udinski has interviewed for five offensive coordinator openings.
He has spent the last three seasons on the Vikings’ coaching staff, which included being the team’s assistant quarterbacks coach most recently and working closely with head coach Kevin O’Connell.
I would imagine that connection to O’Connell and the success that the Vikings’ offense has had and various quarterbacks has contributed to the intrigue other teams have had in Udinski.
This past season, Sam Darnold would have a career year after joining the Vikings as he completed 66% of his throws for 4,564 yards with 36 touchdowns to 13 interceptions with the Vikings winning 14 games.
Liam Coen confirmed during his introductory press conference that he will be the play caller on offense.
