The Jacksonville Jaguars have until Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET to trim their 90-man roster to 53 players ahead of the 2023 regular season.
That could be especially difficult for the team this year after accumulating talent that made the Jaguars owners of one of the NFL’s deeper rosters from top to bottom. The depth of the team could also mean that the Jaguars negotiate a trade or two before the Tuesday deadline:

WR Kevin Austin Jr.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Jaguars got their cuts started Monday, beginning with the second-year receiver. Austin, 23, first joined Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and spent his entire rookie year on the team’s practice squad.
FB/LB Derek Parish
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Monday that Parish was waived. The seventh-round rookie was an intriguing talent who racked up sacks at Houston, but attempted to transition to fullback with the Jaguars. He never really stood out at the position, though, and saw a few snaps on both sides of the ball in preseason.
OLB Jordan Smith
A fourth-round pick in 2021, Smith spent most of his rookie season as a healthy scratch and missed his entire second season due to a knee injury. Smith did well in preseason but couldn’t do enough to take K’Lavon Chaisson’s spot on the roster. According to Tony Wiggins of Locked On Jaguars, Smith was informed of his release Monday.
RB Qadree Ollison
Ollison, 26, was among those released Monday, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 in Houston. The former Falcons and Cowboys back joined the Jaguars in February, but faced an uphill climb to make the roster in a loaded running backs room.
QB Nathan Rourke
Rourke put together an impressive and fun preseason, but got waived by the Jaguars anyway on Monday, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The former CFL quarterback could land on the Jacksonville practice squad if he clears waivers.
WR Jacob Harris
The former Rams wide receiver/tight end made a strong case for the 53-man roster, but didn’t make the cut, according to Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union. Harris finished the preseason with three receptions for 74 yards, including a circus catch against the Cowboys.
TE Gerrit Prince
A strong start to camp made it seem like Prince was more likely than not to make the 53-man roster. But according to Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union, the second-year tight end was waived Tuesday.
WR Jaray Jenkins
The former LSU receiver will be waived by the Jaguars with an injury designation, according to reporter Jordan Schultz. That means that the undrafted rookie would revert to Jacksonville’s injured reserve if he clears waivers.
K James McCourt
The Irish-born kicker spent his entire rookie season on the Jaguars’ practice squad and could be headed there again. With Brandon McManus starting at kicker, the Jaguars elected to waive McCourt, according to Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union.
