Jadon Sancho is on "borrowed time" at Manchester United, according to Red Devils legend Dwight Yorke, amid reports the club hierarchy have put a price on his head.
Things haven't exactly gone to plan for the England international since his £73million switch from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021. Sancho has, as of yet, failed to reach the lofty heights that were expected of him. As a result, the 23-year-old could leave Old Trafford this summer, he is up for sale provided United's asking price is met.
It is believed that those at the top of United are well aware that they will make a significant loss on Sancho if he does depart. £45m, just shy of £30m less than what they paid for him two summers ago, a damning assessment of his time at Old Trafford so far.
The warning signs have been there, just last month Yorke was scathing in his review of Sancho's time at the club.
Speaking to Mirror Football on behalf of aceodds.com, Yorke claimed: "Yeah, it's one of a mystery, really. He had so much potential and hope for the likes of Manchester United. Huge investment, really did an amazing job when he was at Dortmund.
"Somehow the transition from there to Manchester hasn't really worked out in the way that we all thought it might for him. [He has] really struggled, whether it's from a mental point of view, which seems to be well documented. He hasn't really lived up to the price tag.

"So yeah, he's on borrowed time, I suppose, if you have to be fair in many respects. He hasn't really produced the goods that we expect him."
Manager Erik ten Hag is desperate to close the gap between United and local rivals City, who ended the season in spectacular fashion by securing the treble.
For the Dutchman to do that, he'll need serious investment. United are already struggling to get a deal for their priority target Mason Mount over the line and could view Sancho as a good way of boosting their transfer budget this summer.
A big-name striker, another midfielder and a goalkeeper amid David de Gea's expected exit from the club are all on the agenda for United before the new Premier League season gets underway.
Given that the kind of players United are looking at to fill those three important positions are not going to come cheap, the club have come to terms with the idea of cashing in on high-profile figures to get the targets Ten Hag demands.
If a suitor expresses interest, it seems there's every chance Sancho becomes one of those figures that will bid farewell.
