Jadon Sancho sends cheeky response to Bruno Fernandes after Manchester United criticism

Jadon Sancho sent a cheeky two-word response to Bruno Fernandes as the pair celebrated Manchester United’s win over Leeds.

United had to fight back after letting their two-goal lead slip at Elland Road to eventually win 4-2, and give their top four hopes another much-needed boost.

Fernandes and Sancho linked up to help give the visitors a 2-0 lead at the break, with the latter chipping the ball up to his Portuguese team-mate to head in after Harry Maguire had opened the scoring.

Leeds hit back with a quick-fire double in the second half, with Rodrigo and Raphinha striking within a minute of each other to level things up again in the torrential Yorkshire weather.

United managed to get themselves back in front though thanks to Fred, who fired home moments after coming off the bench, with Anthony Elanga wrapping up the three points late on.

The victory comes at an opportune time for United, not only in their race for fourth, but also after another week in which rumours of unrest in the changing room have been abound.

Fernandes’ goal also came at a good time for the Portuguese star, with some of his recent performances for the Reds having been questioned.

The 27-year-old posted a couple of pictures of himself celebrating with Sancho to his Instagram story, with the former Sporting Lisbon man copying the England international’s celebration as he put his hands over his ears.

Fernandes tagged his team-mate in the post with the caption: “@sanchooo10 that celebration looks familiar.”

In response, Sancho reposted the images, along with the caption “silence em”, presumably in response to the criticism United’s players have faced.

The win over Leeds was their second consecutive victory in the league, and means they extend their advantage over their top four rivals to four points.

Attentions for United now turn to the Champions League as they head to Atletico Madrid for the first leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday.
