Jadon Sancho opens up on what Man Utd dressing room expects from new boss Erik ten Hag

Jadon Sancho is looking forward to hitting the reset button at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag amid reports that players feel training sessions have regressed under Ralf Rangnick.

The Red Devils are limping toward the finish line with one game left of the Premier League season which will conclude what's been a terrible campaign from start to finish. United reached a new low with their 4-0 defeat against Brighton last weekend and Ten Hag's arrival at Old Trafford can't come quick enough, with Rangnick taking a consultancy role in the summer.

The Dutchman will oversee a major exodus at the club with as many as 1 2 players departing Manchester in the upcoming window but Sancho is one who will give a chance under the new manager. The winger has suffered a disappointing season since arriving from Borussia Dortmund last summer for £72million, but there is hope that Ten Hag can unlock his potential.

And Sancho, who has discussed his appointment for the first time, is looking forward to the new season under the former Ajax boss and learning about his philosophy following claims that players have criticised Rangnick's training methods.

He told Premier League Productions: "To start again fresh, with a new manager coming in, we’re looking forward to seeing what his ideas and plans for the team are. You only have to think positively. My career is only getting started and, hopefully, it will take off soon. This has been a difficult season, especially being a Manchester United player, with what the club has achieved over the years.

"United is known for winning trophies and being up there with the best. This season has been a difficult one for all of us, but I think we still have to show belief again."

Reports this week claimed that United players believe their training sessions have deteriorated under Ralf Rangnick.

The Daily Mail claims the mood in the camp 'is totally flat' as the German's spell in the dugout comes to an uninspiring end. The report states the players are reportedly underwhelmed with the training carried out by Rangnick's coaches Chris Armas and Ewan Sharp who they feel are 'well below' the standard set by their predecessors Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna.

It has also been claimed that players have been critical of the coaching team for some time, specifically Armas and Sharp.

It is claimed the squad were given no specific instructions on Brighton in the lead up to the embarrassing 4-0 defeat.

Rangnick gave the squad four days off with United not back in action until the final day of the season, next Sunday against Crystal Palace, but some players didn't agree with his decision with a number of things to work on.
