Jadon Sancho explains what Erik ten Hag has changed at Manchester United

Jadon Sancho believes Erik ten Hag has given Manchester United a clearer tactical plan than they had last season.

The winger was the match-winner at the King Power Stadium on Thursday, with the victory over Leicester City making it three in a row for Ten Hag after a disastrous start to the campaign.

United have begun to look more cohesive and fluent under their Dutch boss and Sancho' s goal came at the end of another slick team move.

It's a far cry from some of United's performances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick last season, a wretched campaign that ended up as their worst in the Premier League era.

There are already clear signs of improvement under Ten Hag and Sancho believes a major part of this is due to the detail the 52-year-old is giving his players.

"I would say more information, a clearer plan and what to do, especially in some areas of the pitch," Sancho said of the changes under Ten Hag.

"We’re training more together and as you saw from pre-season, we’re playing well together. We’re playing in the style which the manager wants. Everyone is loving it at the moment.

"The style of play in training is what we’re working on. Some of that you see, some of it is the intelligence of our players, creating and knowing each other well."

United were at rock bottom less than three weeks ago, but the day after the humiliating 4-0 defeat to Brentford Ten Hag called the squad in and made then run 13.8km, the cumulative distance by which they had been outrun by the Bees.

Sancho insists the squad had no qualms about doing the extra running and is already pinpointing it as a potentially decisive day in the campaign, with three successive wins following to lift United to fifth.

"Definitely [it could be decisive], we knew we had to wake up after the Brentford game, we’ve got three wins in a row now and we have to keep this up and hopefully keep getting some more wins," he said.

"We had to do it [the running], we shouldn’t be losing like this, everyone took it as extra running and more fitness and after that we just got on with it."

Sancho is finding form himself under Ten Hag, with two goals in his last three games. He managed just five in his first season for the club and is aware he needs to increase that tally this season.

The 22-year-old has set himself a target for goals this season, but he doesn't plan on sharing it just yet.

"As a forward you always want to create and score goals, I want to help my team, to score and assist," he said.

"I do have my own targets but I won’t share them. I would say I’ve still got more to come, but I feel good, I feel like I’m in a good place at the moment on and off the pitch."
