Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho claims Liverpool and Chelsea players made overtures to him while he was on international duty with England.
Sancho, 21, moved to Old Trafford in a £73million transfer from Borussia Dortmund in July, a matter of weeks after reaching the final of Euro 2020 with the Three Lions.
However, things could have been very different had his countrymen playing for rival Premier League clubs had their way.
Sancho earned his first England call-up in October 2018 and claims there were subsequent attempts to try and convince him to make the switch to Anfield or Stamford Bridge while he was on international duty.
However, he insists interest in his services only "got serious" after the Euros, when the Red Devils stepped up their pursuit and agreed a fee with Dortmund.

"I met Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw with the national team," Sancho told Sky Sports Deutschland. "They always said: 'Come to United'.
"There were also the guys from Chelsea and Liverpool, who all tried to convince me their club, but it only really got serious after Euro 2020."
Sancho recorded a remarkable 16 goals and 20 assists during his final season with Dortmund, whereas he has only managed five goals and two assists two-thirds of the way through this first campaign with United.
The former Manchester City academy star admits he embarked on a steep learning curve by joining the Red Devils but maintains he is beginning to "break free".
"I'm very self-critical," Sancho added. "It certainly isn't my best season, but I have learned a lot. A new league, new teammates.
"I would say that I'm only now really starting to break free. I feel more and more comfortable and happy."
Sancho has hit his stride in recent weeks, chipping in with three goals and two assists in his last eight appearances in all competitions.
Arguably his finest performance in a Red Devils shirt came against Leeds in late February, when he picked up his first assist for the club and quickly added his second in a 4-2 victory.
However, Sancho was keen to stress there is more improvement to come, saying: "I was voted player of the match - I would say that was one of my best performances for Manchester United.
"But it's still about evolving for me. I can do a lot better."
Sancho scored in last Sunday's Manchester derby - a 4-1 defeat by Manchester City - and will be confident of keeping his spot in the starting line-up for Saturday evening's clash with Tottenham.
