Jadon Sancho has been backed to enjoy a successful second season at Manchester United and be ‘key’ to Erik ten Hag’s rebuild.
The winger had a largely underwhelming debut campaign following his £73m move from Borussia Dortmund. The 22-year-old finished with just five goals and three assists.
He did show glimpses of his Bundesliga form after the turn of the new year. A wonderful goal against Manchester City at the Etihad in March and an eye-catching performance in February’s 4-2 win over Leeds spring out as highlights in his United showreel so far.

And it is these moments of brilliance that former defender Wes Brown pointed to as evidence that next season could be an enjoyable one for the attacker. Brown is due to represent United in the returning Masters Football series on July 8.
Speaking ahead of the 360 Sports TV Masters Cup, he said: “I can see Jadon Sancho pushing on under Ten Hag. It's football, you know what you have to do, it’s just whether you have the confidence to do it.
“During the second half of the season, when Sancho was taking on players, sometimes two, three, four defenders, he had very close control and was getting in their face. I noticed once he started doing that, I could see panic in the opposition.
“He’s the sort of person that can bring defenders out to him to create space somewhere else. The top teams have that type of player, so I think he could be key for next season.”
