After just a week of entering the transfer portal, Jaden Rashada has found a new home at the University of Georgia. Rashada, a highly-touted recruit, initially committed to Miami before flipping to Florida and eventually landing at Arizona State for his freshman season.
During his senior year, Rashada was reportedly offered a staggering $13.85 million NIL deal by the Gator Collective, prompting his move to the Sun Devils after the deal fell through. Despite his brief stint at Arizona State, Rashada showed promise by winning the starting job before a knee injury sidelined him for nine games. In the three games he played, he threw for 485 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions.
At Georgia, Rashada will join a quarterback room that includes Carson Beck, who had a successful 12-1 season last year. Beck took over from Stetson Bennett, a two-time national champion who was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round last year. The Bulldogs' only loss last season came in the SEC Championship against Alabama, which cost them a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Despite Rashada's departure, Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham expressed support for the young quarterback, calling him an elite talent and a great person. Dillingham's positive remarks indicate a mutual respect between the coach and player, despite Rashada's decision to transfer.
