Jade Goody's eldest son is about to take his first steps into the world of showbusiness after being given a role in EastEnders. Bobby Brazier has joined the cast of the BBC show with soap bosses teasing that his character is set to cause a stir when he arrives on Albert Square.
Bobby, who is the son of Jade - who died from cervical cancer in 2009 at the age of 27 - and TV star Jeff Brazier, will be joining one of the most famous families on the BBC One soap as he takes on the role of Freddie Slater, the son of Little Mo Slater. EastEnders will mark the 19-year-old’s acting debut.
Currently filming scenes that are set to air this autumn, Bobby said that he was “really excited” to be joining the soap and said that his experience had been “perfect” so far, praising the cast and crew for their support. “Everybody has been so beautiful to me and made settling in easier than I could’ve hoped,” he said.

“Stepping into the acting world has always been a vision of mine and doing that with EastEnders as a Slater is a blessing, I'm very grateful. Loving every minute of Freddie so far and can’t wait to see what’s in store for him in Walford.”
Producers have promised big things in store for Freddie Slater, who is described on the EastEnders Instagram page as “a bundle of energy and a truckload of trouble”. Long-time fans of the soap may remember the son of Little Mo, who was last seen on-screen as a tiny tot in May 2006 before being recast this year.
Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw described Freddie as “a modern-day lad who’s in touch with his spiritual side”. He added: “He’s philosophical, accepting, but full of mischief and makes mistakes. Bobby is an amazing young addition to the EastEnders cast who brings heart and humility to the role of Freddie Slater and I can’t wait for audiences to get to know him.”
Details of Freddie’s return to Albert Square are so far being kept tightly under wraps, with the EastEnders social media page teasing only that Freddie “finds himself on a mission that could end in heartbreak”.
