Jade Goody co-stars Danielle Lloyd & Jo O'Meara branded 'scumbags' over CBB racism row

Jade Goody 's former Celebrity Big Brother co-stars Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara have been branded "scumbags and bullies" as the show's racism row was thrust into the spotlight again.

Jade's story was brought back to the forefront in Channel 4 documentary Jade Goody: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain, which concluded last night.

The series documented Jade's rise to fame, her career heyday and her downward spiral after the CBB racism row in 2007.

Jade was vilified along with model Danielle and S Club 7 star Jo, who were also caught on camera making vile remarks about Shilpa.

The pair have now been viciously trolled after the scenes were aired again in the new documentary, with Danielle being forced to block a number of users over their nasty comments.

One tweeted: " @MissDLloyd and @joomeara are scumbag racists. Shilpa will always be classier than you two. #JadeGoody ."

Another added: "Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara were utterly vile, racist and got away with a lot. #JadeGoody."

A third wrote: " @MissDLloyd Watching the #JadeGoody documentary and this makes me realise how Jade was used as a scape goat and how you and @joomeara got away with your racist remarks. Just thought I’d highlight that."

During the show, Danielle was heard telling the Bollywood star to "f**k off home" while Jade referred to her as "Shilpa Poppadom".

Jo was also heard mimicking Shilpa's accent and making disparaging comments.

The racism row escalated into an international scandal as effigies of Jade her burnt in India, and then Prime Minister Gordon Brown was forced to address the controversy on a trip to the country.

There was even a police investigation into the allegations of racist behaviour by the trio.

Afterwards, broadcasting watchdog Ofcom probed Channel 4 after receiving more than 54,000 complaints.

Channel bosses were rapped for failing to properly respond to instances of alleged racism and broadcasting scenes that were deemed unsuitable.

Telly chiefs later broadcast a series of apologies and vowed to tighten editorial standards.

After the controversy, both Jo and Danielle denied being racist and neither of them have commented since the documentary aired.

Jade died in 2009 aged just 27 after a battle with cervical cancer.
