It was business as usual for Jada Pinkett Smith as she stepped out for the first time in public after the fallout from husband Will Smith’s slap at the Oscars.

The actress, 50, attended the grand opening of Debbie Allen and Shonda Rhimes’ performing arts centre in Los Angeles, California, on Saturday night.

Pinkett Smith looked stunning as she posed on the red carpet in a gold strapless floor-length gown.

Flashing her biggest smile for the cameras, she showed no signs of strain following the fall out of her other half hitting comedian Chris Rock after he made a joke about her hair, which is cropped due to hair loss condition alopecia.

His actions sent shockwaves through the showbiz world and last week saw him banned from attending the Academy Awards for 10 years.

The mother-of-two seemed happy and relaxed as she posed with Rhimes and Allen on their big night.

She also had pictures taken at the event with Samuel L Jackson and his wife LaTanya Jackson.

Taking to social media later, she uploaded a full-length shot of her outfit.

She also used the caption to congratulate her friend on her new business venture, writing: “@therealdebbieallen said wrap it all in gold and come let the kids fill your soul❣️

“Congrats Debbie on the opening of your Debbie Allen Dance Academy @officialdadance!

“You are the legacy that so many other legacies will stand upon. Thank you for ALL that you do.”
