Jacqueline Jossa says her agent books her work around her period due to 'unbearable' pain

Jacqueline Jossa revealed her agent arranges her work schedule according to when she gets her period.

The former EastEnders star, 29, opened up about all things menstruation in her new ITV Be documentary, Jac Jossa: Me and Periods.

She used to get normal periods, but since having children, it has become 'unbearable' and a 'hindrance to her life'.

Jacqueline explained her symptoms, which include extreme cramps that she compared to 'someone's actual hands in there squeezing'.

Her other symptoms include mood swings, tiredness, incredibly heavy bleeding and more.

Jac's 'hell week', as she calls it, gets so bad that she sometimes can't work.

"This is how bad my periods are," she explained on the ITVBe show. "That Talia, my agent, now has it in my schedule.

"And she books work around the period. Like, I couldn't do this shoot today on my period, there is just no way. What, you're gonna put me in a bikini? Not on my period."

Elsewhere in the documentary, Jac teared up as she thought about the idea of talking to her children about their menstrual cycles.

Jacqueline shares seven-year-old Ella and four-year-old Mia with her husband Dan Osborne.

Speaking to the camera, the star said: "It's actually quite scary. They're still our babies.

"Oh it's so sad, makes me feel bad for them, it's hard being a girl, makes me feel really sad."

As her voice breaks, she continued: "I don't ever want them to ever go through that stuff where they feel embarrassed or boys take the mickey out of them for leaking everywhere, and you just wish you could wrap them up in cotton wool and keep them at home until they do go on their periods."

With tears in her eyes, Jacqueline added: "I just don't want them to deal with any of that," before vowing to make sure that both Ella and Mia won't be kept in the dark about what's to come.

Not only did Jac visit a gynaecologist to discover if there was anything wrong with her, she also went to a nutritionist.

Thankfully, doctors found nothing abnormal and suggested pills and forms of birth control that could help ease the pain.

Jac Jossa: Me & Periods is available on ITVBe.
