Jacob Murphy is in agreement with Eddie Howe that there's more to come from the Newcastle United winger after his goal against Brentford. The avid Toon supporter scored his first goal of the season after being given an extended run in the side by the Magpies head coach.
Murphy impressed at Fulham and did the same against the Bees, grabbing a goal his performance warranted. The 27-year-old is happy to repay his manager's faith in him and admits the Magpies have put a few demons to bed with convincing wins in their last two outings.
Murphy told nufc.com. "Delighted to get the three points, lots of goals today and the main thing is, we backed up the performance from last week. It was always going to be a tough test by yeah, we showed what we can do."

"We had to put them to bed [draws against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth], we knew they were games where we should have probably got three points. Those games are gone and it was about how we reacted.
"Two wins on the bounce now and a lot of goals which is really pleasing to see because we had a couple of games of fry patches in front of goal and we were looking to change that.
"We were clinical but those chances came from an intensity which we always work on. We've put them under pressure and forced them into mistakes and we've got to be ruthless and that's what we've done."
Callum Wilson reacted quickest to a loose pass from David Raya before unselfishly teeing up Murphy for Newcastle's second of the afternoon. Murphy said: "It's been a while since I last scored so it's a lot of relief to see it hit the back of the net. I must say a big shout out to Cal [Wilson], he's a ruthless goal scorer and he's in a cracking position, he saw me in a better position and rolled it on a plate for me. Credit goes to him for that.
"It's a difficult chance, you know it looks like an easy chance but it goes through his legs. I'm close to the goal and not really got much time to think about it, so clean contact and watch it go in the back of the net."
Murphy has featured heavily under Howe since he arrived on Tyneside, whether that be starting or getting minutes from the bench. "The manager has a lot of trust in me," said Murphy. "If I'm not starting he's consistently bringing me on. He knows the value I add inside the dressing room so any chance I get to come on, to start, I look repay his trust.
"I like to go out and give performances not only for him, but my team-mates and the fans."
Lest season Howe said there was a lot more to come from the Newcastle winger and he's certainly proven his worth in his last two outings.
"I'd agree with that," Murphy added. "I think there's more to come. Everyone in the dressing room knows what I'm capable of so it's about repeating that in training, in matches and keep going."
The Magpies winger made his 100th Premier League appearance earlier this season, with his 102nd coming in the win over Brentford, a special moment for Murphy at his boyhood club.
He said: "I remember getting the trophy this week. I sent the picture to my family and they were buzzing, probably more than me, but it's great to have an achievement as great as that in itself. But then, to do it for my club is all that more special."
Reflecting back on a year since the takeover, Murphy stressed the current crop of Newcastle players know exactly what it means to represent the club. "It's special and I don't think anyone is taking that for granted," he said.
"We know there's a real big job to do and we've all got pride in the badge. We're all proud to be here and it's about kicking on and getting to the heights that we know this club is capable of.
"That would be the dream [to be talked of in the same ilk as Laurent Robert and Alan Shearer ]. That's what we're all aspiring to do here. You know, it's not about coming here and turning up, it's about actually putting a marker down and writing our name in history and I think with this squad, the ambition, everything that's going on I think we're in the right direction heading towards that."
