Jack Wilshere urges Arsenal to sign £34m transfer target amid Chelsea and Tottenham interest

Arsenal have been urged by former player Jack Wilshere to sign Leeds United star Raphinha this summer ahead of rivals Chelsea and Tottenham.

The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing the Brazilian winger as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attacking options ahead of next season. football.london understands that Arsenal are targeting a move for Raphinha's national teammate Gabriel Jesus this summer after already confirming the arrival of 19-year-old talent Marquinhos from Sao Paulo.

Fabio Vieira is expected to seal a move to the Emirates Stadium this week after FC Porto confirmed an agreement had been reached for the £35million transfer of the Portuguese playmaker to Arsenal. The Gunners are expected to make a few more signings this summer and Wilshere believes Raphinha would be a good addition to Arteta's squad.

Raphinha has attracted interest from many top European clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona, with the Brazilian set to leave Leeds United this summer. And Wilshere thinks that Raphinha would need little time to settle in at the Emirates Stadium and be a brilliant - if costly - addition to the squad.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Wilshere said: "For someone who’s only been in England for two years, he’s got a lot of experience.

"He came to England and just clicked straight away. He was in a relegation battle last year so he knows he’s up for a fight. I think he’d be a good one for Arsenal. He'll be expensive, of course he will."

Raphinha is valued by the CIES Football Observatory at around £34million, but Leeds are expected to hold out for a high fee for one of their key players, with Kalvin Phillips expected to leave the club as well ahead of next season.
