Jack Wilshere names Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand in exciting Hale End insight as Arsenal academy flourishes

Jack Wilshere has named Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand as a player to watch out for at Arsenal.

The club’s academy has been particularly fruitful in first-team affairs of late with Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe emerging as key figures under Mikel Arteta.

Young midfielder Charlie Patino has also attracted a lot of attention during the fleeting glances fans have been afforded of the 18-year-old, while there has been a focus on bringing in younger players from other teams to build towards something greater.

Wilshere, a Hale End graduate himself, was speaking to Stadium Astro and was keen to stress that he did not want to put too much pressure on burgeoning talent, having perhaps felt that himself during his formative years.

Still, while the 30-year-old did reference Patino as one of the most exciting talents at Arsenal, he also spoke of Salah’s potential.

“I don’t want to tell you about a player who I think is really good then put pressure on him and it doesn’t work out,” said Wilshere.

“But there’s a few in the academy. The fans will watch the under-23’s and know about Charlie Patino, who got his chance.

“But then there are other players out there, there’s a boy called Salah who is really good coming through. There’s a lot of players in that group who are technically very, very good.”

A central midfielder to have moved to the club in August 2020, Salah has been included in five senior match day squads so far this season.
