Jack Whitehall fights back tears during emotional confession

Comedian Jack Whitehall fought back tears during an emotional confession about his child's relationship with his dad.

Jack, 34, began his television career as a presenter for ‘Big Brother’s Big Mouth’ in 2008, before appearing on panel shows such as ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’, ‘Would I Lie To You’ and ‘Mock The Week’.

Recently, Jack was a guest on The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett which is a podcast hosted by Steven himself. His podcasts feature his reflections on his experiences as a CEO, as well as interviews with other business leaders and entrepreneurs while also discussing the personal journey of his guests.

A video was posted on Jack’s TikTok account showing a 60 second snippet of the podcast episode. Jack appears to get extremely emotional discussing becoming a dad and sharing the hope he has about his child having a good relationship with his dad.

In the video, Jack said: “He’s the most loving person ever, I want him to have a relationship with my kid. I said I wasn’t going to do this, on this. I mean, I am now getting emotional.

“I wanted to have a baby because I wanted him to be around to know my child and to spend time with my kid. I’ve seen how amazing he is with my niece. He’s the most loving person ever. And so I want him to have a relationship with my kid.

“And then, yeah, I want to do all of these things, you know, have success in my career that I can share with him and he can see these things and enjoy them. I love having him there for all of that. So, yeah I still do think a lot about impressing him and his approval still means a hell of a lot to me.”

People rushed to reassure and comfort Jack in the TikTok comments as one said: “From the moment you were born he was proud of you” while another added: “I grew up watching you and my ‘Pops’ taught me how to have a dark sense of humour. I miss him terribly and you definitely make yours proud x.”

A third user wrote: “Some don’t make good parents but make amazing grandparents. His dads relationship with Jack's child will be different to the one he had.”
