Jack Ross emerges as Aberdeen job favourite as ex-Hibs boss reportedly shows interest

Jack Ross is "keen on" the Aberdeen job, according to a report.

The ex- Hibs manager emerged as the bookies favourite after Stephen Glass was sacked.

Ross' name is being considered by the club’s board having already been put to them, reports the Daily Record.

It's also reported that Glass would have been gone earlier but for an intervention from his players.

Pittodrie chief Dave Cormack sacked him on Sunday morning after the Dons were dumped out of the Scottish Cup by Motherwell.

Glass managed just 14 wins in 41 matches since replacing Derek McInnes last March.

The ex-Hibee had been under pressure in late 2021 after a previous winless run and a shock League Cup exit at the hands of Raith Rovers.

Glass had been under pressure in late 2021 after a previous winless run and a shock League Cup exit at the hands of Raith Rovers.

But he’s now paid the price with Aberdeen out of the cup and languishing in the Premiership’s bottom six.Cormack and director of football Stephen Gunn this time went to players to inform them of their decision and warned that an immediate uprun in results and performances is required.

Barry Robson has been placed in temporary charge and he will be assisted by Neil Simpson and Scott Brown for Tuesday’s game against St Johnstone.

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin is another potential candidate, as are ex-Celtic boss Neil Lennon and Derek Adams, currently in charge at Bradford City.
